So let’s talk about the biology of attraction for minute. There is a core misconception that most people have today that “sex” is only a small part of life and that as a civilized society we should be above such primal drives and desires. The truth from the standpoint of nature and evolution couldn’t be different. You have to understand that without attraction and especially sex there would be no “us” here today. That’s pretty easy to understand isn’t it.
The single most important drive of any species is to survive. That is a simple fact of life. Without reproduction, a species dies off and is replaced by another species better at mating and sex. As our ancient ancestors developed over thousands of years, they developed attraction triggers and the ability to perceive subtle clues in body language that gave them the signals for who would be the best to mate with.

Men and women were then, as they are today different, as much as our culture tries in vain to make them the same. We each had different roles from the standpoint of evolution, and we each are programmed to look for different subtle cues about who would make the best mates.
The most important function for the male was to ensure the passage of his genes. Men were and still are compelled in their base wiring to want to have many partners and to ejaculate quickly. This is of course is a large problem with men these days, but it can be overcome. The reason for this wiring is that the more women a man could impregnate and the faster he could do it from the standpoint of nature, the better the chances that he would have children that would survive to carry his genes forward. We have the luxury of making sex about pleasure in today’s world but from the standpoint of how we are built, it is about survival.
So a man takes his cues more from a woman’s physical body. Her hips, legs, breasts and other physical features give him an idea of how healthy and strong her genes likely are. Ideally to strengthen the survival odds of a child, you want two sets of very strong and healthy genes. You can see the importance of this.

Is that women take their cues more from the man’s personality. She was designed to care for the children, so she looks for qualities of personality rather than physical traits. You could have been the biggest, strongest man in the world but if your IQ was only 3 and you had zero social skills, the likely hood of you providing the resources she and the child needed were slim. The qualities she is wired to look for are strength of character, personal power and the inner clues that demonstrate if a man is up to the task of providing safety and security for her. To say again, men are attracted to women’s bodies, women are attracted to men’s personalities and specifically to the traits she sees as valuable. Since she is looking for traits inside of a man and we can learn to display those traits and un-learn the traits and behaviors that are unattractive.
